- Alex Palou makes it a Honda 1-2 at the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Presented by the All-New 2026 Passport
- Honda takes victory in 10 of 10 NTT INDYCAR races this season
Powering his 9 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda to victory in the Honda Indy 200 at MidOhio Presented by the AllNew 2026 Passport, Mr. MidOhio, Scott Dixon broke through as the third different winner in the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
Using his renowned fuel saving skill to complete all 90 laps on only two pit stops, Dixon earned his record seventh victory at the MidOhio Sports Car Course. In 2019, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2009 and 2007 were his other MidOhio victories.
In today’s race, Alex Palou, a Chip Ganassi Racing colleague of Scott Dixon’s, got a 12 for Honda. Running broad in the last stanzas, Palou led a race-high 75 laps and let Dixon across. Through the final laps of the race, the two battled fiercely,
but finally the six time champion of Dixon would cross the line ahead of the three time champion of Palou. Palou has already won six times this year and leads Kyle Kirkwood in the drivers’ rankings by a strong 113 points.

Andretti Global’s fourth place finisher was Colton Herta; the Meyer Shank Racing pair of Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong came home sixth and seventh, respectively.
Finishing eighth in his Honda Honda, Kyle Kirkwood, second in the championship and winner three times already this year, crossed the line. A special livery for a significant Honda event.
Honda Research & Development, as well as the Honda Marysville and East Liberty Auto Plants, lie approximately 60 miles from the MidOhio Sports Car Course. Each year, Ohio produces more than 400,000 Honda and Acura cars as well as research and design on parts for Honda items ranging from lawnmowers to the Honda Jet.
The Honda livery also comes on a special weekend of NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing as the series has reached the oneyear milestone running hybrid power units. Thousands of Honda workers from the Ohio plants gathered to see the NTT INDYCAR SERIES stars, including Kirkwood riding a Honda.
Rinus VeeKay also earned Dale Coyne Racing a top ten finish, moving up 17 places to ninth, just ahead of Kyffin Simpson in 10th, thereby giving Honda eight of the top ten finishers.
Honda has won 10 for 10 in IndyCar racing thus far this year, a record since the comeback to multi manufacturer competition in 2012. With 915701, Honda leads competitor Chevrolet by 214 points in the manufacturers’ championship.
