Skoda & Volkswagen recall 2025 – Citing possible seatbelt assembly flaws, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Limited (SAVWIPL) has declared a new voluntary recall of 1,821 vehicles made between December 1, 2021 and May 31, 2025.
Along with 961 Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus vehicles, this most recent recall impacts 860 Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), regular quality inspections identified the problem.

What’s wrong?
Two different concerns were found on regular inspections:
Possible faults in the metal base frame of the back seatbelt assembly
Certain automobiles utilize faulty seatbelt components, therefore impairing correct safety function.

The recalls cover both Skoda and Volkswagen vehicles:
Skoda: about 860 vehicles from kushaq, slavia, and kylaq.
Volkswagen: Taigun and Virtus, roughly 961 units.

Though no accidents or injuries have been noted, these flaws could cause seatbelt restraint performance to fail particularly in the case of a frontal collision. Earlier recall in may had affected roughly 47,000 cars for a comparable problem.

Skoda & Volkswagen recall 2025: This recall comes just three months after a much larger campaign in April 2025, which affected 47,235 vehicles across the same model lines. That recall addressed a potentially dangerous defect wherein, during a frontal collision, the rear seatbelt’s buckle latch plate could break, and other components such as the webbing and buckles of rear seatbelts could fail.
