Nissan Magnite Scores Amazing 5 Stars in Global NCAP Crash Test

Nissan Magnite – In a significant leap forward, the Nissan Magnite has achieved a 5-star safety rating in the latest Global NCAP crash test results.

This is a major upgrade from its earlier 2-star rating and showcases Nissan’s efforts to enhance safety in its popular compact SUV.

In the most recent Global NCAP crash test, the Indiamade Nissan Magnite achieved a fivestar safety rating for adult occupants and three stars for child occupants.

This achievement makes the Magnite the first vehicle in South Africa to achieve a fivestar rating under the present Global NCAP testing rules.

Originally two airbags had been fitted in the Magnite and had gotten a passable twostar rating for adult and child occupant safety. Nissan, though, willingly sent the model back for testing following an extensive package of safety upgrades.

These includes:

  1. Six airbags
  2. ESC: electronic stability control
  3. Better protection for pedestrians
  4. better systems for seat belt restraint
  5. For every seat, three-point seatbelts
  6. Adult Occupant Protection: 32.31/34.00 – 5 stars
  7. Child Occupant Safety: 33.64/49.00 – 3-star

Frontal Test for Bodyshell Integrity: stable

Supported by conventional ESC and increased structural integrity, these outcomes show strong performance in both frontal and side impact tests.

Two engine options are available with the Nissan Magnite facelift: a 1.0litre B4D naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72bhp and 96Nm of torque and a more potent 1.0litre HRA0 turbopetrol engine producing 99bhp and 160Nm.

While the turbocharged model offers a 5speed manual or CVT transmission, the naturally aspirated version is offered with either a 5speed AMT or a 5speed manual.
